Hi there! ::waves:: I'm Jael, yet another of your friendly neighborhood moderators. I'm an inveterate fandom butterfly, and my current dwelling places include BtVS/AtS, Harry Potter, Stargate, and the DC Universe, especially Justice League. (I also read L&O, Gilmore Girls, Sports Night, PoTC, and LoTRips, and, like Kyl, I adore a good cracked-out crossover. The more cracked, the better.)

Onto the recs!

shoebox_project, by ladyjaida and dorkorific.
(Harry Potter, MWPP-era R/S-in-progress)
Summary: A collection of miscellany gathered in a metaphoric "shoebox" belonging to Remus Lupin. A random collection of memories of the Marauders, from the summer before their sixth year until...? WIP.

Read it because oh my god. It's brilliant, beautiful, and utterly perfect. The artwork is stunning, and the stories themselves can make you laugh until you cry, or simply cry. Best of all, there's the wonderfully drawn UST and confused, developing love between Remus and Sirius, neither of whom know how to deal with it.

Unspoken, by Lady J (aratesia).
(Stargate: SG-1, S7 Sam/Daniel UST, PG)
Summary: Daniel came back different. Sam knows it.

Read it because Lady J explores the nuances of a friendship between two people whose relationship has always been at once too close and too distant to be "just" friends. Plus, this story comes complete with the complications of Daniel's recent resurrection, a shopping trip, and a Sam who just isn't sure what she wants anymore, but is beginning to figure it out.

::taps microphone:: Is this thing on?
Hi. I'm Kyl. I like pretty boys, slash, well-written kisses, porn, character development, and stories that take risks. Other than L&O, I read Master & Commander, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buffy/Angel, Sports Night, and LOTR RPS, as well as anything else that strikes my ever-changing fancy. Like really crazy crossovers. Really really crazy crossovers. And fics involving incubi and/or antennae.

My recs will probably reflect that.

Fool In The Rain, by minervacat.
(LOTR RPS, Dom/Orli, NC-17)
Summary: well there's a light in your eye that keeps shining like a star that can't wait for the night.

Read it because Min does a spectacular job capturing the feeling of needing to get out and away. And the sex? Is awesome. (Hey, I like rain and mud.)

In Which Billy Boyd Says Stuff by inbetweens.
(LOTR RPS, Elijah/Billy, PG-13)
Summary: See title. Very light-hearted, but there is a plot. (Billy and Elijah make a deal.)

Read it because if you've ever uttered some version of the sentence, "I would pay [insert name here] to read the phone book," you will see that "pay" can take on many dimensions. Both funny and surprisingly sweet, this story takes a pairing that I've always had some difficulties with and makes it totally believable and real.
